The good thing about @gooddream is that he actually puts out original posts that are well written and well thought out. It is nice to see him at the top of the list. He definitely deserves it for the number of quality posts he puts out per day.
Yeah, I'd rather see some quality up there than not.
i agree its great that he puts out great content, but he also bots to get his payout, as do most of the top paying authors. i would like to see what an organic list of top authors would look like, with the payouts adjusted to reflect the bot payouts subtracted from the actual payout total. this would show us who is actually being voted on by steemians for their content, and their real worth in steemit.

As far as I know that is incorrect. He does have some big accounts that support him but they are not bots. It is part of a long standing business agreement he made as far as I know. He is pretty upfront about it and fair about it. He could easily win every Tasteem review he does, but he chooses to not post through the portal because he knows it would be skewed due to the upvotes he gets. That speaks a lot about his character right there. In my book, he is beyond reproach.
i wasnt attacking the guy personally so get off your cheer-leading wagon. I was commenting on how the majority of that list are up there because of bots and whales, whether paid for straight out, or sweet-hearted (friends of bot owner/whales), and that the top author list is skewed because of this association.
it's like saying "I won the election because people voted for me", and ignoring the facts that all the millionaires and superpacs donated to my campaign.

i see, so xeldal, enki, rocky1, appreciator and tipu appear on post payouts out of the kindness of their hearts? interesting. he might not pay for their votes straight out, but somewhere there is an association.
ya, they might not be "bots", but it computes the same. he gets huge whale votes on every post. all i'm saying is, who would he be without those votes?
certainly poorer, as he is no longer earning as much nor extracting 5k steem a month since new steem.
I'm not trying to dis the guy, he seems a really good writer. i like his topics and I might even vote for him if he wasn't already paid an obscene amount. however there are a LOT of really good writers here. I think they deserve as much credit for good work as the same thirty guys on that list.
I don't disagree about there being other writers that deserve those kinds of votes, heck, I've been here two years busting my butt hoping a whale would take a shine to me and do exactly the same thing. I don't hold it against them(him) though. Now if they were posting crap I might take offense. I actually asked him about his big upvotes in a comment on one of his posts recently and he seemed to have a reasonable response. Maybe I am just gullible.
