Since this week is basically about video editing, there was a lot to work on. The whole editing process wasn't easy at all. You need a phone that's super smart to run this conveniently if not, you'll give up along the line. My video production was based on a script I plotted down which was basically about steemit.

My script

Scripts help you know what you're doing to avoid multiple shooting or video creation. It gives you an idea on what you have to say and how to say it perfectly. I won't be able to pen down the whole script to avoid making this post lengthy. My script had subheadings to guide me.

  • So much money right? I've actually hooked my viewers with mad screenshots

  • I channelled my attention to the Monetisation aspect of social media where you'll have to be influential, have a good number of followers and engagements before you earn money

  • I then diverted their attention to Steemit being a social media that's different. No Monetisation, no followers, no must-do engagements, no registration fee and the platform being free for anyone to just.

  • Then I was like, all you need is 3 things. Join this platform using the link below this video.

Content Ideas

My content ideas matter a lot because if I'm not able to figure this out, definitely, I want be able to be creative in my videos. My content ideas revolved around the circle that I'll be dramatic, confident, looking forward to catching my audience's attention and the likes. So I thought of certain things...

  • What if I make use of screenshots of my earnings?
  • What if I burst my viewer's bubbles by bringing in Facebook that they aren't earning from?
  • What if I share screenshots of my posts and my earnings on these posts?

How can this be done? Basic video editing right?

Editing on Capcut

To edit my videos, I did a lot of things. I created a lot of catchy clips, kept screenshots, downloaded free songs from Pixabay and the likes. I had to gather all these to be ready for my editing. These are the tools I used majorly in my editing process.

  • Overlay
  • Texts
  • Audio
  • Stickers
  • Effects
  • Transitions and Animations
Duration3 minutes plus
Size16.9

I made sure that everything I did was in the format of 16.9 and that the video shouldn't be unnecessarily lengthy. How do I create an opening that's catchy? I thought to myself and then thought of hooky my viewers with the question.....HOW? HOW COME?

Opening

I used a video of coins falling down, screenshots of steem conversion to dollars and a screenshot of my available balance of bybit to show that one can earn real money from Steemit. These screenshots and videos will hook my viewers. I thought to myself, could this be a false alarm?

Definitely not because there are no promises as to how long you'll make this money or when you can achieve this. All we know is that money can be made in different ways on steemit and the exciting thing is, you're earning steem coins for free. Legit update — No Monetisation

  • After these clips, I came in. Some much money right? I then used Facebook to tells these ones that they can earn real money from their contents without having to meet any requirements. Instead of getting likes and comments, they get real pay

Overlays

I made use of Overlays to add these screenshots or clips in one slide to balance. I then clicked on the Overlay tool to do this. Before doing this, I set up my Aspect Ratio which is very important to attain the 16.9 sized video format. I also made use of overlays

Texts

I made use of texts to draw the attention of my viewers. These texts helped in spelling certain things out for visibility and clarity. Like when I used Monetisation, no minimum followers. I had to highlight them in texts for emphasis sake

1001322117.jpg1001322099.jpg

Effects

I made use of outro and intro video effects to give my video some spotlight and interactions. I did this by clicking on the text icon, using whatever font I choose and then the colour was kept at black and white shadows, so it won't be so disengaging or unappealing

Stickers and Audio

The use of stickers wasn't exempted as I basically used arrows in pointing certain things. Using audio was to keep the video lively. Imagine the video without any background music to motivate viewers, it may not be boring but that motivation to watch till the end may not be there. So I used a free background song to avoid copyright issues on YouTube.

Opening and Closing

My introduction and closing are on point. I told my viewers to click on the link below this video which is in the comment section. The comment section houses my link and with this task given to them, I've engaged them into making comments on my post by visiting the comments section. I was also like, subscribe and share my video.

I used transitions to do the panel beating during the video

Thumbnail Creation

If you post a video on YouTube just like that without adding any cover, YouTube selects a cover for you and you may not like this cover. So in that case, it gives you an option to edit your cover in a way that would be significant and appealing to your audience.

I used canva in creating my thumbnail. I thought to myself, what would capture the mind of my viewers, dollars right? Everyone wants to earn in dollars now. Why didn't I use crypto? Crypto wouldn't have been so catchy. Why? Most people won't really understand what you mean by earning crypto. There are many that aren't crypto enthusiasts, so it would be strange to them or they may assume it's only for crypto traders or Investors, not common people like them. This is what I came up with. I made use of the following tools

  • Text icon to add my texts
  • Colour icon to insert and mix colours
  • The element icon to actually bring the circle behind that man
  • The add photo icon to select online pictures that would be catchy

I used a portrait view which was supposed to be landscaped. My reasons was to make the text legible. If I had used the landscape to accommodate everything, I wouldn't have raised questions in my viewers mind. My viewers would want to see what's below the thumbnail and that would motivate them to watch the video.

TitleHow to make $50-$100 by writing with your smartphone?
Why was this important?I didn't want to mention steemit in my title so as to keep my viewers curious except they go through the description. This are questions may people ask YouTube to get answers from. So my content would be visible to these people
DescriptionI added a description of 100 words plus
Tags#money #youtube #youtuberbossj23 #steemit #steem
OuttroDon't forget to like, subscribe and share this video

I added the first tag because it's among the top searched tags and can make my content visible to people looking for how to make money online.

Reflections

Editing this video was my major challenge because I had to combine a lot of convincing things and my phone wasn't doing justice. Using the speed feature made the video hang along the line and my Capcut began malfunctioning, making the whole video editing stressful. They were some things I had to cut because it was really slowing my pace. In all, I came up with something nice. The stress would be compensated for.

The lesson is very comprehensive and I thank the host for giving us enough guides before embarking on this journey. Without these guidelines, we definitely won't be able to meet up.

I really appreciate your efforts, my friend, but you came late and published your post after 00:00 UTC. You also used a trick to publish part of your post first and then edited it to perfection a few hours later. I've been monitoring it since earlier.

You published this post when SLC W4 started.

However, I will still review your post to acknowledge your effort. But I cannot give you a ranking due to the late timing.
