Is STEEM on the move again? Are we at the beginning of something huge?
THE STEEM IS RISING
With the announcement by @ned this week of the introduction of the Smart Media Tokens (SMTs) Whitepaper, interest in STEEM seems to have increased significanlty, with the value of STEEM rising above $1.60 briefly for the fist time in over 60 days.
After a fairly flat period of trading, STEEM has steadily risen, and is currently trading above the $1.50 mark.
This is great news for your posts, as you will have seem their values steadily rise over the past few days, alongside the rise in the price of STEEM. It will be even better if STEEM can find stability at this new level above $1.50 and consolidate for a while.
Those who have been converting their SBD into STEEM over the past few weeks are now reaping the rewards, and will have started to see their account value swell.
Let's hope this is the beginning of another period of increased interest and rapid growth of the Steemit platform! With the build-up towards SMTs being developed and implemented on the Steem Blockchain, I think we could be right at the beginning of a huge shift in the way we do business, to a more decentralized and digital approach, and that these SMTs could be a catalyst for moving cryptocurrency and digital tokens into the mainstream even quicker. The Steem blockchain could just become the new power-player in this area.
We are living in very interesting times, that's for sure. Let's see what FUD comes out of the big banks and governments next to try to donwplay this.

Ill admit, I am new to Steem, I knew the concept and understood what future implications it could present but never took the dive until now. Im glad I did. SMT looks to be an evolutionary piece to not only the steem platform, but the internet in general.

I must admit I'm a novice when it comes to cryptocurrency and the like, I mainly joined to share and read great content. But even I can see the great possibilities that this platform can bring all of us!

If the rest of the crypto market can be stable and world governments stop trying to FUD the market then it's all blue skies ahead for steem. Active users are growing, the platform is evolving in innovative ways....it's all very promising.
