What are cyclones?
Cyclones are intense, spinning storm system which has low pressure at centre that is huge in size.
They are formed over warm oceans and can wreak havoc when they approach the shore.
The cyclones are tropical hence they are called Tropical cyclones and mostly occur at world's tropics.
Cyclones are called Hurricanes in the atlantic and eastern Pacific, Typhoons in southeast asia, and cyclones in the Indian Ocean.
How are CYCLONES formed?
The heat energy combined with the rotation of the earth, gets the cyclone spinning and propels it forward.
There are % categories of cyclones:-
CATEGORY 1
The winds blow at 90 - 125 Km/hr
CATEGORY 2
The winds blow at 125 - 164 Km/hr
CATEGORY 3
This is very distructive and the speed of wind is above 200 Km/hr
CATEGORY 4
The winds blow at 225 - 279 Km/hr
CATEGORY 5
This is the strongest and this cause great distruction.
The wind speed exceeds 300 Km/hr.
