This is demonstrably false. Twitch, youtube, Patreon, these are all businesses that have donation mechanisms and they're extremely successful.
Not false at all. None of those make any bread and butter, the enormous ammount of things there are free, they are not successful one iota because of donation mechanism, donation mechanics on those platforms have paid out exactly how much especially in comparison to how much free content there is and can any of them stand next to steem who has made bread and butter for how many?
You know what is both user friendly and straightforward, what everyone who takes donations does.
A link to one of those begging sites or an addresses for any number of wallets. And I think donating steem itself couldn't be more straightforward.

The vast majority of people who are content creators for a living are able to do that because of Patreon. It's literally the #1 site in the world for that.

The money doesnt come, ONE CENT, because of Patreon, it comes from the content that is posted on a YouTube, on an Instagram, on any number of Blogs, and there, NOT ON PATREON, there is a begging link to Patreon to donate. Patreon makes bank in Fees And The cut on top.
Nobody goes to Patreon to browse for shit. The ammount of work that goes into marketing and posting to other sites that make money on that content to get people to click the Patreon link, only to sit there and tell me that people make money on Patreon is ridiculous AF.
