A question about coinpayments and cashing out a lil bit of steem.steemCreated with Sketch.

Hey peoples! I have a question.. Do you have any experience with coinpayments.net?

I've been on a journey recently to cash out a little bit of steem to sort of just to familiarize myself with the process and to show friends or family that it really works and it's not a scam.
At first I was going to take out $1000 to get a drone.. But.. After seeing the value go up recently and hearing news about VICE's plan to pay people to watch porn with a token they are going to create through the steem platform...
I decided I just wanna take like $100 out instead, and keep holding the rest, cause I have a feeling it's going to go up a lot in like a years time.
So.. Why buy a drone now when I could wait a year and buy like 10 instead? Lol.. Not that I would really want 10 drones I wouldn't even have room in my room for them all.. Though.. The point is, I wanna wait to get a drone now until steem has a higher value.

At first I tried coinbase, but they wouldn't accept my drivers license picture over the internet and I saw a TON of other people having the same problem, plus I hear they barely ever respond to people or get back to them..
So.. I don't really wanna work with them if that's the case. Sounds a bit fishy and suspicious to me, maybe it's just cause they are OVERLOADED.. But I get a weird feeling there.
Next I research bitpay, and I was going to go that route and get a bitpay card.. Though.. Then I saw someone talking about coinpayments.net and.. I just wanted to ask.. Does anyone have any experience with them?
Is there anything I should know? Would you pick coinpayments or bitpay? Or something else? What's your choice for cashing out and why?

I would recommend Kraken or Uphold. I have never heard of coinpayments and I won't say it's a scam or not because I just don't know. However, I never recommend any site to anyone else that I don't know for sure it's legit.

Kraken was good but has issues now. It doesn't work fast. Many users are leaving Kraken these days.

I would recommend bitstamp. I never heard of coinpayments so i couldn't tell. But from many known cryptocurrency exchanges i trust bitstamp for fiat money.

I have been using CoinPayments since 2014 for all my cryptocurrency payments and wallet service. Great company and legit in all respects. They won't work well for your needs IMO though.

CoinPayments has the motto, "by the time you're ready to cash out into FIAT you won't have to." They are all in on crypto and don't support government issued currencies. They do have an integrated API that works with FIAT settlement providers like Coinbase in the US and CoinMotion.

I know they are working on a partnership with a third-party FIAT settlement company to make the process smoother but haven't heard a date yet.

Interesting. Thanks for the info!

Excellent that point out. These kind of confusion always be present on discutions about SteemIt. Great!

I have not really used it but i do suggest you cash out SBD instead of steem
like you can get $100 USD for only 10 SBD (+/-) whereas almost 50 steem to 100 bucks .
and one more thing i think it would be better for now if you turn on 50/50 payment method on post :)
Just a suggestion my man !

@apolymask,
I never get payments from coinpayments.net to bank account! But Since 2015 I am an user of coinpayments! They are absolutely great! If I am recommending someone to put money in web wallet, I will recommend coinpayments.net as #1!

Cheers~
