I see steemit growing in the future too but not that sure that it will take over the social media. Have you checked out ong.social and their ong coin?

You are right. In order for Steemit to replace Facebook it would have to change its functions to allow people to connect in different ways. Adding friends, making groups, and chatting with other people are necessary. This is something that onG.Social is addressing and in my opinion is key for the success of a social media platform. Steemit has a bright future as a blog social media platform, but I see onG as a better candidate to replace Facebook.
That is the same thing that was said of bitcoin some years ago when people predicted it was going to replace or outpace fiat money. I strongly believe steemit can replace facebook. I have over 1000 contacts on Facebook and I barely use it now. Steemers! Have faith and keep in blogging and Steem up. There is light at the end of the tunnel
