Is the problems with Poloniex holding back the value of steem?

To start out, I'm not an expert in trading and the whole crypto thing, this is just my own thoughts. As you can see from the image CoinGecko gives you a nice little chart to show how influential Poloniex is in trading online. With steem and SBD having issues and being suspended for deposits and withdrawing for just about the entire summer has our lack of access to this market had a negative impact on their value?

It seems that the fall in value from around $2.30 at the begining of June we have seen a decline and the value going more or less sideways between $1.10 and $1.50 for the last 2 months ties in with Poloniex's problems with us.

In the brief times Poloniex has opened up deposits for a brief time the value would start to climb only to drop again when they again suspended steem. I don't know for sure but I think the value of steem won't start to climb and break out until Poloniex sorts itself out and finds a real fix for it's issue with steem and SBD.

I'll be staying away from Poloniex. Sounds like they think they are a god deciding who can trade their little crypto currency. Poloniex will be surprised the day that STEEM will surpass them in Value. There is a lot of attention and popularity here on Steemit. Thanks for the heads up on Poloniex. Thanks for the article as well. Re-Steemed.

I managed to get everything out of poloniex in the periods that they enabled steem so won't be going back.

Due to this poloniex.com madness, I had to move my steem out to bittrex. I don't know why they should lock up people's steem forcing you to either sell or leave it

Sounds like a fair assessment to me.

These dips close to a dollar suit me at present though, little by little i'm collecting Steem :)

I wish I'd had the money to buy steem last year when it was $0.10.

yeah... the less said about that the better!

I joined last AUG, did nothing and forgot, returned in April and it was storming up!

Poloniex have a history of being shitty and unreliable with withdrawals and communication during busy periods.
Exit scam is a bit far-fetched but it certainly raises questions about their liquidity and exactly where there funds are
