Steem Interface proposal: Follow / Response / Upvote Notifications
I propose the following improvement in the UI:
Upper Left icon = Followers notifications. User can click and be transferred immediately to a new post that a person followed just authored. A time mark ("X author posted this Z time ago") would also be great. That's obviously inside the content of the drop down notification/menu.
Middle icon = Responses & upvotes notifications. Clicking in a linked response or upvote, takes one there. A time mark is useful too.
Icons obviously need to reflect the nature of Followers and Responses. I've just used the human icon from the right. An additional envelope-icon may be added for personal messages sometime later, if personal messages are supported in the future.
The submit a new story, may be shortened to a button as well - but later on, when people start catching up - or depending what the UI designers have in mind.
A money icon could be used as well for rewards, but then there's too much notifications blinging up - although I suspect most people will not mind that particular "harassment" :) Heck, they may even hear "kachiiing" when they see the $ icon bling ahahaha...

That's what I wrote yesterday, but nobody cared :P
Hmmm haven't read it (did now). I was on the autosport forum a few hours ago, after formula 1 qualify session, and they have a similar system of notification (2-3 blinging for me at the time) and that's when it "clicked" in my mind as an idea...
