10 Things I wish I'd knew when I got accepted on Steemit.
( Newb - A term used to describe a inexperienced person. Unlike a noob, a newb is someone who actually wants to get better.)
Hello and welcome to one of my new posts. I am pretty new to steemit (I am still a newb), just joined not long ago and there are a few things that would have helped me a lot if I knew them right when I got my account accepted. I'll write below.
1. Save your account password in more then 1 place, it would be nice if you'd write it down in a notebook or something.
If you somehow lose your password or forget it (not sure if you can learn it, i barely remember first 5-6 letters/numers) having it written somewhere or saved will get you out of trouble.
2. The first picture in your post will be your thumbnail for that post.
If your first picture is a Gif your thumbnail will be the first frame of that gif.
3. There is a Steemit chat where you are allowed to share your newest creations in different rooms.
For Steemit chat go here. You'll have to create a new account for chat, use the same name or something close to that, people can find you easyer this way.
4. There is a site (www.DTube.video) where you can upload your videos and monetize them, once you upload them there they will be posted automatically on steemit.com too.
If you have a youtube channel you could start uploading some of your videos here, give it a try you never know when one of your videos explodes in veiws.
5. Don't be shy and comment on posts you like, people can upvote your comment and you earn some $.
If you like someone's comment you should upvote it.
6. Long and good written articles tend to do better then short ones.
Instead of creating posts with only 1 picture and no text or 1 row of text you could invest some time and create a better quality post and you have higher chances to get to the top.
7. Experiment with tags, always try to find best tags for your post. They are the ones that could grant you succes.
You can start by checking your competition see what tags they are using, combine them with yours and use your top 5 tags for your posts.
8. Prepare your thumbnail and title thats your first contact with the reader.
Take your time to create a nice thumbnail and a catchy title so your post get attention needed.
9. If you see something you like upvote it, don't just spam your upvotes on every post.
AND NOW ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!
10. Don't give up after your first posts, continue posting, creating content, the start it's hard.
If you got this far it means your survived my gifs and my bad english, thank you reading till the end, hopefully this helped you or your friends.
An upvote and follow would help me a lot since I am new here. Thank you.
