if steem goes to $3 then that is roughly 6x the STU price, which, if im right here, will result me to earn 6 x 5 = 30 steem a day.. at $3 so $90 a day?

You mean 6 x 5 = $30, not 30 Steem. The amount of Steem does not increase or decrease, the value does.
