What the future of Steem and cryptocurrency might look like

It is hard to imagine what the future of Steemit and crypto might hold for us in 5 -10 years down the road. We are at the very beginning of a new stage of what cryptocurrency can and will function to do. Steemit is the first social media platform that I have seen so far that combines crypto with social media and gives bloggers and writers the chance to earn while doing something that they are passionate about doing.

Imagine this

Imagine hotels built entirely on the concept of paying with Steem or Bitcoin. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could actually build businesses that get paid in cryptocurrency and function solely on members of that crypto community and the community votes and approves of what projects and ideas that they want to pursue.

Imagine banks or credit unions that are entirely based on cryptocurrency that prefer to get paid in crypto rather then traditional fiat currency. We do not have the inflationary rate that fiat currency has, we are not tied down to not being able to pursue our passion based on the strength of the economy.

Imagine a currency that rewards everyone for their talent and anyone can contribute to the community not just a select few who have been chosen. Imagine if this new economy isn't controlled by any government or big corporations but it is controlled by members of the community who vote on issues and policies.

It would be amazing if we could create a community that is not entirely based on capitalism or a trickle down effect economy. It would be a entirely new dimension of economic existence.

We could build restaurants, movie theatres, malls, or whatever you can put your mind to based entirely on our crypto.

Lot's of room for growth

There is going to be lots of room for growth and progression. We are just at the beginning of the crypto era so there will be mistakes and weaknesses to improve upon similar to Mt. Gox and The DAO attacks. These attacks have only exposed some weaknesses and vulnerability of the blockchain, the community and future will be stronger because we are going to improve upon these mistakes.

My co-worker stated: "that Steemit site Looks kind of ghetto", I told him this site just barely started it is at the beginning of its life span. Similar to when Facebook first started out as a shell, Steemit will have lots of upgrades and lots of new additional features coming soon! This community is just a shell of what it will be in a few years.

In the future it might be harder to get posts up-voted since there will be more talent to choose from so everyone in the community might be more selective on what material they up-vote making it harder to accumulate Steem.

I imagine there are a lot more things Steemit could turn into and not just a blog or Social network. Steemit could turn into a talent search website where everyone posts videos of themselves singing or performing an art. Or even posting unique creations like paintings, artwork, digital art etc.

Digital Contracts Are More Reliable

Digital contracts are more reliable then regular contracts in that they cannot be broken or manipulated like regular contracts. As people come to realize this crypto will grow and become more sustainable and the digital contracts will be much more widely used then today.

People are afraid of the new digital contracts and the technology the block-chain is built upon. I am sure there were people afraid to use the internet in the 80's and 90's we are just seeing a repeat of this in a new form. People will always be afraid of new technology if they do not understand the concept or anything about the technology.

We could also see digital financial contracts in the future with crypto so people can finance cars, houses, boats etc.

There are an unlimited amount of possibilities that can be created, it is an entire new dimension to the internet.
