Well, in the nicest possible way, you do come across like a pompous so-and-so at times, even if you are making solid sense.
Is "artificially lower the the cost..." a direct quote? That could, should have been worded differently perhaps.
I see it as almost impossible to guess right the parameters for fair transaction costs for all first time, and am happy to see a swift reassessment by Steemit. It may not be the last, and it may be that further generousity to solid Steemians is required to ensure the good can continue their levels of engagement.
Btw, an unfollow from the Steemit team is a badge worn with pride in some parts.

It's true that civility is the foundation of a great conversation but you can have a fairly good one without it. Perhaps there's something for both parties to take away here.
