Building Communities One Trail at a Time

Our First Daily Issue

Steem Trail curators have lined up to be interviewed and to share their stories and highlight their authors. Each daily issue will feature these Steemit members and their participation in SteemTrail to help improve the quality of posts, offer a community involvement, and create a more equitable reward both inside Steemit and with Trail Coin on Steem Trail. Be sure to read our interview with @KrNel below and if you haven't done so already, follow the links at the bottom of this page for more information on Steem Trail and Trail Coin.

  • Steem Trail Interview

Interview with @KrNel, curator of Psychology-trail

@KrNel is a prolific writer who delves into the core issues of our selfhood and our interaction with others. He describes his recent work as, "dealing with the self-knowledge of standing for truth to speak up on issues that are happening. There are problems in life, which include some on Steemit. Knowing about them will enable us to resolve them". As a contributor to the platform of Steemit, his articles provide a base understanding of some psychological facts that will be of use as a reference for years to come. This is the true value of Steemit to me, and by extraction, the real value of STEEM.

We had an interesting discussion over SteemTrail chat on Discord this weekend, even though our schedules do not really match well!

OK, well, let me start asking questions and you can answer them as you have time.

@baerdric) What first brought you to SteemTrail?
@KrNel) @charlie777pt asked me to join after he had approved some of my posts a few times. I heard him describe what the trail does and decided to help out.

    B) I know you curate the Psychology trails and I see you often post in the Philosophy Trail, but are you active in any other trails?
    K) I'm not active in other trails. I do check out philosophy and pizzagate, so I could add some posts there now and then, thanks ;)

    B) How do you curate the Psychology-Trail?
    K) I don't have a set procedure. Just read and see if it's pretty decent to add to the psychology-trail. Plagiarism from other languages is hard to detect.

    B) How many authors you you think you support each week in the Trails you frequent?
    K) 20 authors? I don't know. I've seen a variety of names, so it varies although there are some repeat psychology posters.

    B) What are your goals for the type and quality of content in the Psychology Trail?
    K) That is something I would like to establish, but don't yet have a methodology established. Different criteria but similar methodology -- once developed -- could enable other curations to have more discernible criteria as well.

    B) I know you put a lot of time into writing, and you turn out a huge amount of text. Has being involved with SteemTrail helped or hindered that work?
    K) It hasn't really affected the writing. I check for posts a few times a day.

    B) When other people are writing on Psychology, what criteria do you think they should be careful about to insure their post can be accepted in your trail?
    K) Good question. I try to judge it on accuracy that reflects reality. If someone is pushing a conclusion that I can demonstrate is false, then I don't want to promote their post, even if there is good stuff in it apart from that. That's how I do it I guess, so accuracy of representing reality would be the main thing I suppose.

    B) How do you find the posts that you promote for Steem Trail votes? Do you search for the psychology tag or find them in the New or Trending tabs of Steemit, or something else?
    K) I search psychology and philosophy tags mostly. Sometimes I will go through new page and upvote other stuff that's not psychology . Maybe rarely there is a psychology related post not tagged.

    B) What one thing do you hope the members of Steemit and SteemTrail learn about you through your writing?
    K) The main thing is about morality, how that relates to psychology and consciousness, and both of those are self-knowledge to help us understand and "navigate" existence more accurately through truth therein.

Thanks to @KrNel for taking the time to speak with us, be sure to check out his posts in Steemit and join the chat in SteemTrail.

This is a great idea, particularly for those of us that don't frequent Discord!

Thanks, it's a lot of work.

Thanks for the interview baerdric ;)

Hopefully we will get a good interviewer onboard. You are actually my second interview in my whole life.
