It has been an awesome time since the Steemit Campus Invasion that was held at Delta state polytechnic Otefe Oghara. It was an awesome time hosting steemians at my domain. I still want to say thank you to @destinysaid for his help both in words, finance and even his presence. It was a wonderful meet-up

@gbenga isn't left out. He gave us time and listening hears after the meet-up. His words still remains like the fresh mornings dew in my ♥.

@Illuminatus, @mimy, @michaelcj, @bat-junior, @ehiboss, @pearlumie and every other steemians that took out time to come to the meet-up.

The steemit campus invasion has brought so many people (more than 50 and still counting) to steemit and very soon we will be launching our own project. For now we are still at the level of community building. The newly registered members are still at the point of familiarizing themselves with the platform.

So many Newbies have been asking me on how to set their profile on steemit.

FIRST THING FIRST

Setting your profile picture on steemit to me is one of the most paramount thing to do when you join the steemit platform. It's as important as withdrawing your sbd after seven day of making a post.

Setting your profile should always be done before writing your introductory post. Like for me I didn't set my profile picture before writing my introductory post . All I could get was a few cents and few comments. That isn't a good way to start up on steemit

When you go to settings, you see different options like Language, Public Profile Setting (which includes profile picture url and cover photo url) etc

Unlike facebook when you want to upload your profile picture it links you directly to your gallery and when you select the picture of your choice it's automatically uploads itself.

Steemit looks a bit different. On steemit, you are requested to upload the picture URL which I know you are confused about.

To do this, you have to convert your image to URL. To do so you log on to www.postimages.org

This site enables you to convert your desired picture to a link.

When you click on choose image, it links your gallery where you set your select desired picture. When you select it, your picture is uploaded and then converted to a URL

When it finish uploading, it automatically reloads itself giving the links.

If you check out the pics above you will see there are several links there you could copy. The the purpose of setting your profile picture you copy that of direct link.
After this, you can go to your steemit settings page to to paste the link on your profile picture box.

Note that the same process goes for setting your cover photo.

As added information, you can go to www.pixabay.com to get quality pictures all for free. Although there are other sites you could get good pictures but for me I prefer using www.pixabay.com
