ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
Dear friends, I hope you are all doing well. Alhamdulillah, by Allah's endless grace, I am also doing well. Today I have come to participate in my dear @ashkhan sister's engagement competition. She has given a very beautiful discussion on pain-related topics. This is exactly how I will learn myself, teach others, and diagnose diseases. Let's get started.
Definition of balance:-
Balance refers to the stable and adaptive state of the body, through which a person can stand still in one place, maintain balance, move and adapt to the movement of the body.
Type of balance:-
Here are the three types of balance mentioned below:- |
---|
Static:- If a person stays still in one place, that is, does not move and maintains the balance of the body, then it is called statics balance.
Dynamic:- When a person does not stay still, that is, moves, then it is called dynamic balance.
Reactive:- In the case of reactive balance, when a person stumbles, falls and manages to control himself, then it is called reactive balance.
Coordination:-
- Coordination refers to the ability of the body's external, internal, nervous system, muscles to work together. These are controlled by the cerebellum.
pathophysiology:-
- Inner ear problem:- fatigue, weakness.
- Cerebellum problem:- ataxia.
- Visuals problem:- eys problem.
- Medicine issues:- vestibular nerve problem.
- Age related problem:-nerve problem, visuals problem.
Sign symptoms:-
- Weakness.
- Fatigue
- Visual problem.
- Nausea.
- Vertigo.
Some important reasons for balance and coordination disorders are mentioned below:-
- brain problem.
- nerve problem
- vision problem.
- medicine adverse effects.
- trauma.
- accident.
- fall
- hemorrhage.
- unconsciousness.
- weakness.
- fatigue.
- fracture.
My patient, a student, plays cricket every day, and he is very good at it, but suddenly while playing, a cricket ball hit his leg hard, then he did not take the matter so seriously, but after some time he noticed that he was having great difficulty in walking. And he was not able to maintain his body balance properly.
When he came to me, I kept examining him in different ways, after observing his history I realized that he did not have any fracture, but in his case, his muscles and nerves had created some pressure. And to overcome this, I advised him to do some effective exercises.
The patient lost his balance due to pressure on the nerves and muscles due to the cricket ball while playing cricket and had difficulty walking.
I suggested two physiotherapy exercises to him, which are discussed in detail below:-
Back or Reverse Walk:-This is an exercise that helps in developing muscles and nerves. | ![]() |
---|
Benefits:- |
---|
- Helps in developing the leg muscles.
- Helps in developing the nerves.
- Helps in maintaining balance.
- Helps in reducing pain.
Caution:- |
---|
- Caution should be taken while doing the exercise, avoid exercising for a long time.
Single Leg Squats:-This exercise has to be done with one leg. This is also very helpful in developing muscles and nerves. | ![]() |
---|
Benefits:- |
---|
- Increases flexibility of the legs.
- Helps in improving balance.
- Helps in improving blood circulation.
- Helps in muscle and nerve development.
- Helps in joint development.
Caution:- |
---|
- Try to master it slowly.
- Avoid continuing the exercise for a long time.
This is very important, so I will invite some of my friends who will either learn something from here, teach us something themselves, or provide comments. @suboohi @chant @sduttaskitchen and @solaymann bro
