A Message From My Future

My name is Ahbee and I'm 23 years old. I got a mail from myself in the future. It marvel me to see what mail I got from 2040. Here is how it started:

On the 2nd of July, 2026, I woke up to a brand new beautiful morning. I had slept for 8 hours, oh wow! that's unlike me that usually sleeps 5 hours only😃 It was indeed a blessing for me because I haven't slept like that in months. I felt relaxed and energized to start the day. After my usual morning workout and our family morning worship, I picked up my phone to check my messages. I saw a message on my email that changed my life. I was terrified to see this:

Date: 2nd July, 2040 - 12:23 am.

I was speechless, and I thought if it's my friend that is playing prank on me. There's only one way to find out, that is to read the mail. After a moment of disbelief and cold hands, I finally opened the mail. It reads:👇🏾

Dear me,
I'm excited to write you this letter. Please don't be scare about this. You're me from the future, 2040.

Firstly, I want to congratulate you. We finally made it, our dreams are fulfilled this day I'm writing you this. You are comfortably seated on your coach in your own house, reflecting back on how far you've come. Your struggles, cries, pains, mistakes, things that shaped you to being this successful in 2040. As you're going on this journey, please do not give up on what you cherish so much, something close to your heart, that's your dreams. Keep those dreams, yes you know what I'm talking about. The written goals on our diary. Don't let anyone look down on you, start small and manage your finances well, and remember that's why you eventually developed passion for accounting profession.

Ahbee, I understand so well that money is our problem, greatest challenge that we're facing now. You watch every little money you spent so you won't run out of getting your basics need, but still it finishes for weeks. You go about without even 100 naira. It's okay to feel sad and it hurts but remember it gets better as the day goes by. Remember that hustle you started in 2022, it fell many times, but 2028 will be that year of breakthrough. This is as a result of you never giving up on that business. Remember how you used your entire capital in 2022, for your health, 2024 you start again, it failed. 2025, same thing. But because you were never lazy, you grew silently; the savings, investments and insurance was worth it. That's what got you to this satisfying life in 2040.

I have an advice for you now about money, that will really shape you in the process of reaching your goals. Stick to this:

After paying off your loans, don't even dream of borrowing again from any loan App. Stay clear from them. And also, don't compare yourself to online lifestyle, be yourself and trust the process that leads to 2040.
