STEEM EVM Update: PancakeSwap V3 Deployment and Public Testnet Roadmap
Following the successful deployment of Uniswap V4 last week, I have completed the integration and testing of PancakeSwap V3 (operating under the name SherpaSwap for this test environment) on the Steem Virtual Machine (SVM).
This milestone involved more than just contract deployment. I simulated real-world DeFi activities, including liquidity provision, swap execution via routers, and fee mechanism verification. The network performed consistently throughout these tests.

SherpaSwap V3 Integration
I deployed a complete fork of PancakeSwap V3, which includes the Factory, Router, Position Manager, and MasterChef V3 for farming incentives.

Stress Testing Results
To ensure reliability, I conducted several key tests:
- Liquidity Provision: Successfully added liquidity to both STEEM-USDT and SHERPA-STEEM pairs.
- Swap Execution: Executed direct contract calls through the SwapRouter to verify trade paths.
- Router Integrity: Confirmed that multi-hop swaps and price quotes via QuoterV2 returned accurate data.
- Code Verification: All twelve core contracts and the SHERPA token are verified on BlockScout.
The SVM handled the complex logic required for V3 concentrated liquidity and swap routing without issues. Gas efficiency remained stable and optimal throughout the testing process.
Roadmap: Public Testnet Launch
With both Uniswap V4 and PancakeSwap V3 successfully tested, the SVM has demonstrated its capacity to support robust DeFi infrastructure.
I am now preparing for a chain reset to launch a clean, stable Public Testnet. This will serve as the final staging environment before moving toward mainnet readiness. The Public Testnet will provide an open environment for developers to build, users to trade, and validators to secure the network.
Infrastructure Readiness
My self-hosted BlockScout instance at https://evmscan.steemscanner.com has been optimized and is ready to handle the increased traffic expected during the public testnet phase. It offers unlimited access, fast indexing, and full contract verification support.
Community Engagement
As I prepare for the Public Testnet launch, I encourage the community to stay engaged:
- Continue Testing: The current private testnet remains active. Feel free to interact with the SherpaSwap contracts.
- Join Discord: For updates on the launch date and to request test tokens, join the community server: https://discord.gg/XwBNGpzpv2
- Witness Support: Your vote supports the ongoing infrastructure costs and development of the SVM.
