Steem Music : Small Changes that Lead to Big Differences
Our Latest Collaboration
We all live to feel good about ourselves and about our work. That is why music felt so good coz it is about pleasuring our senses and feeds our need for some fulfillment that is intrinsic in nature. One part of it is giving back to society. I choose to depart from the normal view of things that doing charity gives a good image and shows the caring side of the giver/donor. I choose to look at it from an internal point of view. Giving makes use feel like we are part of the community and it gives us pleasure from being selfless. From that pleasure we attain a sense of accomplishment. That is the feel good factor that we strive to achieve.
Our latest collaborator is a small group of individuals that are set to make a difference in the society by their slogan
'Small Changes that lead to Big Differences'
They are bringing awareness of their work and their effort through music and the collaboration will be covered in our report on the 24th February, 2018.
Who are They
This is a program of encouraging youth volunteerism to create empowerment and and inspiration through engagement. This is one aspiration that sync with our goal which is to empower and inspire through music. This group lives by advocating the concept of 'Them before Us' which I find very tactful and inspiring.
The introduction itself is extremely appealing and it scatters the flavor of being cool and selfless in doing the needful for the society and community.
When the idea of engaging community through music in the Blockchain, Dr. Helmi the owner of Liberal Latte who is also an active advocate in this charitable movement suggested a collaboration whereby music, volunteerism, youth and charity can go hand in hand. That seem like a very powerful tool to reach out to more people and in particular the younger generation.
Planting Seeds of Deeds
There is one particular project that caught my eyes because the name of the project is quite catchy. They call it 'Seeds of Deeds' and upon reading further about this project what caught my eyes is the idea of inculcating the idea of bridging the gap between the educational opportunities between rural and urban communities. This program is particularly meant for the younger crowd where they are paired with role models to improve the confidence of using english and to nurture and empower talents.
In Malaysia there is still a sizable gap between the opportunities available to its people in the rural and urban areas. This movement targets the least accessible crowd and provide them with better access and the guide to a better opportunities.
Why Music
I agree that music is empowering, I agree that music has an appeal and I agree that music is capable of achieving great feats with the least talk. Here, the target groups of this organisation are the youths. Youths with talent and there is a huge pool of youths with musical talent and that is where our #steem-music comes in as a catalyst.
We cannot assure anyone that participating and engaging with us through #steem-music will create the next Ed Sheeran but what we can say is at the very least, it will for a few minutes help one to forget about the stress in life and rebuild a more positive outlook through music.
We have good young talents that are already performing through #steem-music such as @edward-ong who is only 19. A girl who is the daughter to a recording artist and she is just 12 who does soulful rendition of Mariah Carey who has also join us in this platform.
Small Footprints
We believe that through music we can leave small footprints in anyone's lives and it is a major tool to empower any individual.
