women growing taller in our days?

i grew up in 80's.
at that times i remember that a woman at 5'7 tall was considering tall.
today a woman at 5'7 is sure average height but in no case tall!
so what happend?
at 80's for instance it was really rare to see a woman taller than an average man.
today?
its very common to see on a busy street dozens of women much taller than men.
i myself am 6'3 tall which is higher than average and considered tall even for a guy.
when i go at a club for example i can see many women at my height (on heels) or even taller...
so what you think are women growing taller?
