I did....you'll see a bunch of people who make enough money to live by blogging on here....I'm not one of those people...YET :). I did invest my own money, maybe about $5,000. I plan on investing another $5,000 in the next couple months and start pushing it. I love Steemit, and you stick with it long enough, you'll love it to. Best of luck!
