When I first started on Steemit, a whale with a 72 rep upvoted me and boosted my rep 14 points with that one click! Now, a whale click rarely gives me more than .3 points. Sometimes I think it's easier to make money here than to move up your reputation number! But I do love a challenge. :)
It is exponentially more difficult to reach the next level the higher you get. Also on top of that, there are less users above you to upvote you and dramatically improve your score.
