Twitter Activity holding up this week.

In this series I regularly analyse and publish a summary of the tweets with the keyword Steemit from around the world.

Twitter is more than just a news source. It is one of the most influential media outlets today. Everyone from the President of the United States to the Pope are on it. By analysing who is posting on Twitter about Steem/it we can get some interesting insights about geographical activity as well as trends in media penetration.

Global Activity

This first graph shows the number of Steemit Tweets Globally for the past 7 days.
i.e. the number of Tweets where Steemit has been mentioned (ex retweets)

  • The downward trend we have seen in past weeks is stabilising holding around the 1500 mark.

High Profile Tweeters

This next graph shows the twitter accounts with the biggest number of followers that tweeted about Steemit or with Links to Steemit Articles.

  • We get quite a few tweets from people with a lot of followers but I don't see a lot of repeat tweets from people with over 1m followers.
Do they not get enough attention when they check out Steemit?
There was a great promotion on the Ellen Degeneres show this week for Ripple. This type of marketing and exposure is priceless.

It's not possible to get the exact location of all tweets but the following analysis includes a representative sample of global twitter activity using the keyword Steemit or linking to a steemit article.

Thank you for reading this. I write on Steemit about Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and Travel.

Would you be willing to expand this to accounts with lower numbers of followers? Or instead go with the number of Retweets/Likes?

Jerry has 100k bought followers, they're not clicking on anything. At the same time there's smaller accounts that get a lot of organic engagement.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will have a look at the data this Friday and present a few different versions of this graph. It should be possible to show which post was retweeted the most. It's also useful to look at
the most frequent tweeters.

Tweeted this post for you, as it is of interest to me as a huge Twitter and Steemit active supporter :)

Upvoted this and then searched Twitter to see if anyone had tweeted this article out. Only found the following Tweet which was already mentioned below by another person:

Awesome, thanks for the upvote. I'll be sure to let you know of I come across any big names tweeting. I have seen some in the past that come here to try it out and don't get seen at all.

wow, now its really great but some day ago i was down..

Now its better activity but really some day ago its was down........but now its really good perform.

steemit is growing little by little and more than 1 million members will continue to rise. It's no wonder that celebrities or politicians start using Steemit as their personal blog.

very good statistics

This really got me really down but i am glad now

This is an interesting method to gauge interest outside of the Steem ecosystem. It would be interesting to see a similar measurement for Facebook and compare the two. Also, it might be worth seeing what the activity is for #steem as well as #steemit. Might want to include #steepshot, considering it's one of the most popular Steem skins. Thanks for compiling this.
