INTRODUCTION

Recently, people are now looking more into the blockchain unlike before where it is very hard to convince them about porting to crypto. The more people join, the more work developers do and the more dapp is introduced. People are noe investing more in crypto than keeping money in their safe net which is the bank. Slow and steady we are achieving that aim of taking the blockchain technology to the next level.

With this development though, companies are out developing more and more dapps relating to the blockchain in other to secure and guide investors and users. We have hundreds of wallet dapp used in securing different tokens. Some of them are safe enough to secure against hackers and looters. The security on a wallet will determine the level at which it can be used so as not to fall victims of cyber attack.

As of now, we have so many tokens that are supported by so many wallet genuinely or ingenuinely. With this in mind I will be sharing the knowledge of what one of the best wallet out here is and why it is called steem wallet.

ABOUT STEEMWALLET

Built on the steemit blockchain and ranking 18th on thestateofthedapp wallet list, steemwallet is a fast and secured open source dapp that serves as a digital wallet for steem and SBD. It was founded on the 18th of December,2018 by @roelandp. This dapp is solely made for the steem blockchain.

FEATURES OF STEEMWALLET

• Monitor multiple steem account: This simply means that this wallet can be used to monitor as many steem account as you have. You do not need to stress yourself, all you need do is to click on the add account to be able to add the accounts you want and also be able to track the transactions going in and out of your account.

• Receive by showing QR code: This is also known as Quick Response Code and it is used as a barcode to store up information and also to lessen the possibility of background interference example cyber attack. This app has an inbuilt QR code scanner which makes it easier for you to scan other accounts and import their keys.

• Allows biometry support: The steemwallet app allows you to import your keys in an encrypted wallet while the app request for a safe passphrase encryption from you. Another option which is not commonly used due to low support from most mobile is to store the passphrase on a native device keychain and then unlock it with biometry.

HOW SAFE IS STEEMWALLET

This is what differentiate these wallets from one another. In steemwalletthe app uses AES 256 encryption per device and per-install unique intialization vector. That is why the app emplores you to chose a passphrase or store it on a native keychain if your device is face, touch or finger identification enabled.

GETTING STARTED

Download the steemwallet app from google playstore here or Itunes. For those who are newly on the blockchain you have to create and account which cost about #1200 Nigerian money. For old timers you add your specified account and viola!! You can begin to use to the app.

To begin transaction you would be needing your keys in other to access the wallet.

PROs

• It is basically focused on a particular token and in this case it is steem and sbd.

• It has in place a secured net to guide against cyber attack.

• You can have as many account on it so far you have your keys with you.

CONs

• It is not easy to navigate to where to add an additional account. You have to exit the app and start afresh.

• To receive steem or sbd I would have to scan my barcode which is not an easy feat for a crypto novice.

CONCLUSION

Steemwallet provides a safe house for the steem community with this wallet.It will safeguard our asset from hackers and looters. Having a Biometry safe lock is an additional advantage to safeguard our account and secure our funds.

I would rate this dapp 4/5 because of its security and sole focus hereby restricting lots of hackers focusing on a less robust wallet.
