LIVEPEER - A DAPP REVIEW OF A GAMECHANGER FOR STREAMING AND UPLOADS

As a decentralised body that blockchain is which cannot be controlled by a single company nor an individual, all bodies involved in the stated project has the ability to shape it.
As the world is leaning towards the live feeds/video streaming platforms, I present to you livepeer which is currently ranked at number one on the stateofthedapp media list and ranked 3rd on the stateofthedappslist. Livepeer. This platform provides a place where you can scale videos to any preferred size without a single error thereby retaining the quality of your project process and the end product.
With the aim of reducing the cost of video scaling and at the same time increasing the reliability of video overflow, livepeer is building a peer to peer (p2p) base that will connect via a market industry and mainly backed by the Ethereum bkockchain.

ABOUT LIVEPEER
Livepeer is an open source blockchain decentralised platform with a technology that helps transmit videos over the internet and can also help to build your video directly on your website or app. This is open to everyone whose work or passion falls into this category of a developer, media house, gamers, programmers, entertainers among others. whose project includes live video or video streaming, they can use livepeer to get all their jobs done at a lesser cost.
Livepeer helps your video process by converting it into any desired format and bitrate so as to reach your users through their respective device with a fast speed in connection.

COMPONENTS OF LIVEPEER
There are 4 (four) components attached to livepeer and they are:

1. Livepeer media server:
   This section operates the streaming of videos and audios by transcoding it into alternate encodings. By doing this the videos or audios are hereby formated into different bitrates and transmitting it into various devices. This is totally opened and transparent for the open source community as a form of peer review in other for them to discuss around its features, bug fixation and others. It is a powerful tool running within the livepeer network and can be used for any media related application.

2. LIVEPEER NETWORK:
   Under this category are set of nodes that run the media server and also navigates the livepeer protocol.
   This network operates on two requests:
   The publishing stream:

The requesting stream: This avenue is an attempt to access an existing livestream that is on the network. This request transcode a live video with certain parameters and also to serve the resulting video.source

• Grey- Inactive Nodes on the present stream.

1. LIVEPEER TOKEN:
   This is a protocol token used for staking by the users on the network.Ethereum is the medium of exchange token in the livepeer platform.

2. LIVEPEER PROTOCOL:
   In this category, various roles in the network are laid out, from the token distribution mechanics, to the transaction it supported, and the cryptoeconomic security measures laid out to prevent accident.

HOW LIVEPEER WORKS
With livepeer, users who wants their feeds broadcasted live will have to make send to livepeer network.This will then go through formating and bitrate processing before distributing the result to the end users.
