Darth Vader - Star Wars linocut engraving party:) (HowTo process inside:)
This saturday I was at the engraving workshop again and this time I made some linocuts:)
Linocut is a type of high printing on linoleum. You begin with creating a black and white sketch , then transfer it with pencil to a piece of special linoleum.
Then you take the special instryments for the linocut and remove all white surfaces. It's not an easy process, and you have to keep your working hand above the auxiliary. Otherwise, if the chisel jumps off, you can easily pierce your fingers.
Here you can see that I placed rwo Darths on one piece. It's easier to cut small forms when you have a big piece to hold.
When you're done cutting you have to fill the form with paint using a cutter roller.
This time I printed my forms on socks. Linocut is a fine way to decorate cloth:)
Linocut form can survive a lot of imprints, so I'll make more later:)
Hope you enjoyed my post:) Next time I'll tell you about monotype experience.
Thank you for watching:)
Love, Inber

That is so great! I can imagine the possibilities..
In linocut - only black and white lineart:) But there are other engraving techniques with other effects possible:)
