SNOKE IS ALIVE, Don't let your eyes Deceive you!

Spoilers Although by week two, I hope this can go without saying.

Theory

Snoke is alive and didn't die at the hands of Kylo Ren!

HEAR me out! And really think about the film you saw with a new lens. This makes a ton of sense, and like Luke said,

"This isn't going to go like you think it is".

Without further adeui, let's get into it.

Snokes power

He is the strongest force user we have ever seen in the Star Wars Universe. We see him throw General Hux around from across the galaxy. We see him bridge the minds of Rey and Kylo from across the galaxy. When they first link minds Kylo says, "you cannot be doing this, the effort would kill you". Linking minds takes tremendous force power and that speaks to the strength of Snoke. When in the throne chamber he tosses Rey like a ragdoll, and can read her mind with ease despite her best effort. Remember in the first film where Kylo, despite his full effort, couldn't read her mind? Snoke is for lack of better verbiage, an utter badass.

And someone that powerful gets bested by a child? No, Snoke was reading his mind with his eyes closed during that scene in the throne room. He saw Kylo wanted to kill him, his true enemy. He had been reading his mind throughout the movie. His inner conflict with his parents, his hesitation. The lightsaber in Kylo Rens hand also wasn't turning, only the one of the table. Snoke was taunting him, "I cannot be betrayed, I cannot be beaten". He knew Rey wasn't his enemy, he read his mind. Kylo even offered Rey co-rule of the galaxy after fighting off the guard.

Not only this, but Snoke is obsessed with balance in the force. He has been just as satisfied seeing Rey rise in the light, as Kylo in the dark. He would not so easily serve her up on a platter. That wouldn't provide the balance and push needed for Kylo to progress further, become stronger. Focus on this scene next time you watch the movie and it will be all the more obvious he knows Kylo is turning the saber. It also is wicked the way he force floats it to Rey. Just a fantastic scene.

So...... starting to make you think?

So Snoke was bridging their minds. Remember at the end of the film right as Rey is getting into the Millennium Falcon and their minds are bridged again? Notice how both of them are caught off guard by this, so neither is doing it on purpose. It wouldn't be Luke bridging their minds as he's dying, so it only leaves one individual, Snoke! That's because he isn't dead. And if you're saying that the connection is permanent or suddenly they jumped 10 fold in power in that they could do it themselves, I ain't buying it.

Something else to ponder

Notice how Luke looked a lot younger when he projected himself using the force?

this is him on the island. Watch the film toward the end and see how much younger the projection makes him look. He is shaved, less wrinkles and his hair is black, not grey.

Compare that to how much younger Snoke looks in this film vs the last

New

Notice how much younger he looks. Less wrinkles, wounds less pronounced, more color. The same improvements as Luke! His voice is also noticeably less gravel and frail. Think also, how much Luke was able to project himself. He was able to kiss Leia, move, talk, and project dice that remained for a while. Just like how Snokes body projected for awhile.

This leaves one of two possibilities. Either Snoke was using a force projection the whole time and he was never really even in the room. (my guess). Or, he is able to cheat death like Darth Plaguis and had already moved most of himself to another vessel.

Possible motives

Snoke needed Kylo to fully commit to the dark. Once he saw the throne vacant, his ambition would be unleashed and he would stop at nothing to attain galactic control. He wouldn't hesitate to kill Leia, and he might finally be strong enough to defeat Luke, who is Snokes most feared adversary. This also clears up a possibility of turning. I don't think there was much of a possibility, but Rey's rebuff of his offer sealed it.

Other peculiarities

disclaimer: These following coincidences I did not discover myself, these were compiled from other fan observations

Snoke has the same theme music as Palpatine from Revenge of the Sith

Do I think Snoke is Palpatine? No, but it does make you think. Palpatine talks about Darth Plaguis and how he could cheat death. I don't think Snoke is him either, but he could have been associated with him.

Snoke has the same four statues Palpatine has in his chamber from the same movie

Again, very interesting. The statues bear some significance, but I'm not sure what.

The stone in Snokes ring is from Vaders lava planet

Snoke has seen the rise and fall of the empire! He is the most powerful force user the cannon has ever seen! He's not going to be bested by some boy that got beat by someone who never wielded a light-saber! And if I am wrong, and that was the case.....I will have lost all faith in these new Star Wars. @chickwithflicks curious to hear your take on this theory. Just fun, or you see it as legit?

Let me know what you think steemians and if this let you see the light....

Awesome theory, I definitely see where you're coming from, how offbeat would it be for Kylo Ren, an unstable pupil of someone so powerful, be able to best him. It makes absolutely no sense and it's that event in the film that really threw me off and brought a lot of criticism towards The Last Jedi. Also, why would they hype up a character so much all just to give him such an unjustifiable death? I mean, Kylo Ren is indeed strong, there's no doubt about it but I don't he's at that level yet to defeat a force master. Hopefully, they make up for it in the next film and play off of that in the way you mentioned cause if he really is dead, that is gonna be a huge loss for the franchise, especially with the potential of Snoke's storyline.

This....actually makes a LOT of sense, if you think about it.

I noticed that Luke looked younger when he fought Kylo. I wondered how it all happened. I didn't know the force was that powerful. It's like they just made up new things the force could do along the way.

As for Snoke, if he's alive by the final film, that would be quite the shocker. I'm looking forward to episode 9 and this is getting me even more hyped for it!

Thanks for the write up!

Thanks, glad you liked the theory! Yah they just seemed to make up new force powers and it was on the borderline of too much, but it was entertaining. I sure hope he is, that would be one of the great psych outs in recent film.

Interesting analysis.

Oh yeah now it’s so obvious ! I was wondering how the most powerful sith can be killed that way ! Thank you the movie seems less disapointing now.

It makes a lot more sense! Plus it will be such a reveal for the next film. It will make this film look so much better when it ties everything together
