Star Wars 8 - Leia's role remains unchanged

The death of Carrie Fisher at the end of last year put up the Star Wars universe and the hearts of the fans of the franchise. Leia Skywalker, his character, promised to become one of the main axes of the new trilogy and his presence was vital to the future of the saga. We knew that Fisher had already recorded all of his scenes in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, but we do not know what direction they will take to resolve their loss in the next movie.

The study has confirmed that they will not implement Leia Skywalker using CGI as they already did in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, because of all the controversy it sparked. Today we have more information about what are the plans of LucasFilm and Disney: the role of General Leia will remain unchanged for Star Wars 8.

According to reports from THR, the creative team of Star Wars will not make any last-minute changes in the role of Fisher and his last appearance in the saga will be the same as he had already raised.

Bob Iger, CEO of Disney:
"When we bought Lucasfilm, we were going to make three films, Episodes VII, VIII and IX.We had to deal with the tragedy in late 2016. Carrie appears throughout the VIII.We will not change VIII to deal with his death. His performance remains as it was in VIII.In Rogue One, we use some digital character. We are not doing that with Carrie "

I was not a big fan of Digital Fisher (or Digital Cushing) in Rogue One. Good to know that they will not need to change the story at all, but I'm still sad that this will be the last thing we get to see from her.
