Beware of Copycat Assets or Cryptos

in #startups7 years ago

I have created the CrowdCoin ICO for our middleware software, and the only asset we have on Ethereum that will be a token as of now is the contract address: 0x8aC77770de6A3B690e9f3EC368Fb64ba3c112cDD

All other assets on the account so far have been tests or past solidity deployments. We are also listed on EtherDapp as the official CrowdCoin integrated Dapp as this have always been our listing.

The reason I made this article isn't to point anyone to our contract. The reason I made this article is because after our ICO, I seen a series of new cryptos created on Ethereum called CrowdCoin and some have been using our ICO listing symbol CRC. I just wanted to clarify that unless they are tied to our contract address or the address of our creator, they aren't affiliated with us.

I also wanted to come out as saying that investors need to beware of potentially copycat cryptocurrencies or ICOs. We aren't calling anyone out as of now. However, this is a common trend that can be seen that scammers may start doing with popular ICOs. Always make sure you are investing in the real deal and not a copycat meant to confuse you. In the future there is also possible threats of people cloning other blockchain company's software and putting viruses or adware on them. Always be careful on what assets you use and who the real owner is.
