Don't think it's obvious! - My startup journey / part 11

in #startup6 years ago

If you are in the beginning of your entrepreneurship journey, or if you have been in this road for a while, take this advice: Never say Duh!

I do agree you may be very knowledgeable, you and your idea are probably unique and so does your startup path; but I have found out many challenges and problems most startups face, are the same! and the greater point is, our brain seem to be handle those unique problems better and sometimes acts stupid against those SIMILAR problems, many other face... yes! I mean the DUH ones!

Those obvious advises!

I'm not telling you go grab a pen and write down whatever everybody says! let's check some advises which most frequently are replied by that awful sound, DUH!

  1. Do you believe in a lover and a mistress? well, startups are not good with that! Startup should be considered a fulltime affair! no side businesses. But you may have figured some PASSIVE income strategies for your financial issues. if you are interested, you can read my previous posts on investment mindset and invest in these three
  2. don't be terrified about your idea being stolen! yes! stop that OCD! I'm not saying let's disclose all the details, but talking about your idea and product will make it mature and perfect! story telling is an artistic characteristic of great innovators and founders.
  3. if someone is not doing right, fire him/her! quickly! startup ecosystem won't let you drive with brakes on
    brakes on.png
    fire him!
  4. release the first versions as fast as possible. don't leave the good for the perfect.
again, don't leave the good for the perfect.
don't leave the good for the perfect.
don't leave the good for the perfect.
repeat, don't leave the good for the perfect!
I can't hear you! don't leave the good for the perfect.
  5. Solution don't always come out with new technologies.
sure some very successful startups was born because new technologies were adopted by many; but not necessarily. Uber succeeded because location based services became very popular and improved, but Airbnb just succeeded on same platform which was existed for years.

YES! these are some advises you hear frequently and ignore! giving that DUH! think again!

Hi honarparvar. Most of these things are common sense but people are blinded when under stress so not that obvious.

thanks for stopping by. you are completely right
do you work on startup ecosystem? or previous experience?

Previous experience getting businesses of the ground. Have done a couple with mixed success.

I encourage you to write about them! please! your experience worth spread and being heard

Excellent points. It's easy to discount advice or concepts that seem too obvious or basic when you shouldn't. Definitely one of the mistakes I've made in my previous businesses!

i would appreciate if you let us know about 🙇‍♂️

It is too risky, better invest in your Education

it is exactly two different mindsets

Great advises. Thanks for sharing :)

Does it alwys mean education is the key to success ? I guess not alwys .. education doesn't guarantee success .. passion drives towards a dedicated thing thus success follow.

ofcourse not. how did you came to such conclusion from my post?
