Getting A Smart Start On Business Ownership
Most people don’t spend much time getting a smart start on business ownership because they are being led by the desire to simply make money online. They think they have a “good idea” for a business, then pursue that idea instead of pursuing a solid business idea. They don’t look at exactly how they are going to pull off their idea and turn it into a new venture, let alone a true business.
However, once they have a solid business idea, the next step is to create a business plan and strategy. This helps them have an overview of what they are going to accomplish, at what point they are going to deploy the necessary steps, and how much money they need.
I follow this strategy. I also put together a preparedness plan… my survival scenario to see how I can bootstrap most of my business. This provides me with a stronger foundation as a leader. I also look at the economic forecasts for the next 24 to 36 months and evaluate the temperament of my consumer so I can adapt my business plan quickly, if necessary.
The next thing I look at is client-care systems. As business owners in a modern world, we have new threats and opportunities that must be added to our client-care models. If you want to get a truly smart start on your business, this model must include how you are going to protect your clients’ information. What are your plans to ensure your online sites don’t get hacked? What are your protocols to continue operations if an attack occurs?
This may feel overwhelming, but you can master these fundamentals when you focus on the things that are most important, like your new business growth. You need to get clients in and take care of them. You need to train your team to deliver an exceptional client experience.
Just remember, business growth comes with volatility. If you have strong foundational pieces as part of your business startup, you will have more success, less stress, and more focus on the things your business is delivering.
