Last photo of Starman and Tesla in space revealed by Elon Musk
As if it had not been so popular, Elon Musk came to the spotlight a few days ago, after launching a Tesla in space.
Three days ago, Elon Musk wrote history after launching in space the strongest rocket, Falcon Heavy. There is a lot of success, actually, in this release and Musk enjoys the full of everything.
For the average audience, the most important part of the rocket launch seems to have been the Tesla red sent by Musk in space. The car also has a driver, a dummy dressed in Musk's space suit, and a "do not panic" message is displayed on a board display.
The mannequin also has a name, or at least one nickname: Starman. It is moving from now on to infinity and the link to the car was lost shortly after the voyage. Starman's last photograph was published by Elon Musk on Instagram, and in about one day after posting, it managed to collect more than 1.4 million likes (and the number is steadily increasing).
Although Starman and Tesla are now moving away from Earth, astronomer Jonathan McDowell of Harvard has calculated that the mannequin will return to us in 2021. McDowell's calculations show that in March 2021, Starman will approach at a distance of 45 million kilometers. Starman and his Red Tesla will never return to Earth, but maybe one day the car and the manikin will be recovered or discovered by someone else. Until then, space travel continues.
