HUMAN CLONING
Human cloning is a form of asexual propagation, i.e reproduction without sex or fertilization. In human cloning, a woman can bear children without the union of egg and sperm, and these children are always identical.
This biotechnical issue is if great concern to the 21st century and even beyond.
It is on record that the very first attempt to clone human being was in 1993. The rrsearch was done by Jerry Hall and Robert Stillman of George Washington University in the United States. Their experiment was unsuccessful because they did not properly follow the method of cloning. The researchers used eggs from a woman to clone 17 embryos which were further divided into 48.
The fact here is that human cloning does not require sex cells, it requires just the body cell of an adult.
People have argued that human cloning if successful has the tendency of rendering human parentage genealogy and cultural identity useless. Also, that cloned human beings will grow with a wrong auto concept and also suffer serious abnormalities such as liver defect, failure if immune system and other complications.
