Disney continues the movie ads to expand the Star Wars universe. His series "Star Wars Anthology" should now incorporate a film about Jabba The Hutt, the great villain of the Return of the Jedi.
Han Solo and Obi Wan Kenobi to start
After Rogue One released last year, the next spin-off that will see the day is the one on Han Solo. His shooting began at the beginning of the year with Alden Ehrenreich to take over the iconic role hitherto played by Harrison Ford. The actors multiplied on the social networks the different announcements indicating that they had finished shooting their scenes. It is still unclear whether this is also the case for Emilia Clarke, alias Daenerys in Game of Thrones that will appear in this film.
The second film that should normally appear on the spin-offs side of Star Wars is Obi-Wan Kenobi. Confirmed during the summer, this film about the mentor of Luke Skywalker but also of Darth Vader should clearly contain many revelations. It is still unclear whether Ewan McGregor will resume his role but he has already announced to be leaving.
What are the next films for the Star Wars universe?
Disappointingly, Disney and LucasFilms wanted to revive the hustle and bustle around the saga. Three other characters in the Star Wars universe might be entitled to their spinnaker, n-off. Among them are Yoda, Jabba The Hutt and Boba Fett.
Disney seems to want to imitate Marvel with his profusion of films. The ambition of the company for the universe Star Wars is to release at least one film a year with probably an alternation of spin-off and "classical" films. It is the film about Han Solo that should open the ball in May 2018, the rest of the exact timetable is still unknown.
