nowhere is sure
nothing is safe
each time I unpack
I have to leave the place

not one to roam
I need a home
a place to hang my hat
and to give the dog a bath

somewhere that I can plant a tree
see it grow taller than my knee
a little garden of my own
planted from seeds that I have sown

with any luck we will get out of this rut
and find ourselves a little hut
outside a sign will say
here we are
we're here to stay

a little background about this poem
I wrote this the year we moved 7 times, it was insanity!
I got really good at packing a U-Haul
