THE LIBRA
Hey guys, its me again, here to give you some of those good old love poems that we've all grown to love...well at least I have. So this one is titled 'The Libra'. As you might have guessed, I have thing for astrology, and my next couple of posts are going to be about it. So this particular poem is really dear to me because I wrote it for someone who for the first time in a long time meant something more to me, unfortunately it didn't work out, but still, when things were good, they were really good. Well I hope you enjoy it.
THE LIBRA
The wall stood firm as I struck it time and time again
No scratch or dent on the surface
It's figure still as reassuring and imposing as ever.
I stood there bereaved of ideas and mentally defeated
Never had a task....person, brought me to the edge of my sanity
She kept herself hidden, locked away behind the wall that was her persona
'I don't want anything, I don't need anyone'
A truth to her that was a lie to me.
Her defences were mounted better than the Romans did in their prime
No openings, no blind spots.....no weaknesses
She was completely sealed off; physically and emotionally
My desire for her grew but my resolve began to fade
My willpower began to wane
But I couldn't give up
I couldn't forsake the treasure that laid behind those walls
I couldn't let it fall into the hands of a lesser man
Another liar, another cheater
Another pretender who would have nothing but see these walls go higher
My approach had to change
My strategy rethought and my battle plan overhauled
What was needed to bring down those walls was nothing short of divine intervention
What was needed was no ordinary effort
What was needed was no ordinary man
What was needed.... was me
I hope you enjoyed it, and if you did, please comment, upvote, and resteem.
Thank you.
