The name, zebra Beans ( Phaseolus vulgaris), is coined from the colouration and zebra-like stripes on it. It is naturally designed with brown and white stripes. Though, a zebra's is black and white. But, the similarity is very high.
The “zebra” bean is also called a "pinto bean" recognized by Georg von Martens as a completely different bean type.

How to Cook:
Soak for like 10minutes to shorten the cooking time to like 35minutes with a gas cooker. But, if unsoaked, they will take two to three hours to cook on a stove. In a pressure cooker they will cook very rapidly, perhaps 3 minutes if soaked, and 20-45 minutes if unsoaked. Cooking times vary considerably however and may depend on the source of the bean, hardness of the cooking water and many other factors.
