A BRUISED WORLD

It was a field
For a giant and a Lilliputian
The prey, enacting her role
In the plot of that nightmare

A trembling voice, praying for succour
Bulging eyes, unleashing chariots of intimidations

Mandates, descending
From the throne of threat
For he quests to cow her to submission
Frowns and veins, so terrifying
Rehashing the memories of Idi Amin

"Please don't do this," she supplicated
Shaky lyrics of pleas, craving a stroll
Into an ear
Which had been tuned
Against the signals of pity
Sad!
Potency of tears, weakened
As the boundaries of his heart were littered with thorns
Against the entrance of sympathy

The lion pounced on the lamb
Feeble fists, banging rocky muscles
He tore them
He did it
The stretched cobra rushed, vigorously
In and out of the hole
Which was preserved
For another reptile

The feeling of a warrior and a king
Tickled the sole of his heart
As her sobs and broken voice, sounded to him
Like the tunes of an epic

With the pace of a snail,
In the rags and in tears,
She dragged her feet
Pulling her battered self and bruised world along
As she headed for the door
