In the face of adversity!
From the ghettos of Lagos, to the crowded markets of Aba, there is no end to the noise.
The noise, a testament to the hustling and surviving spirit of Nigerians,
a hope for a better day ahead fills these people, failed by the system, but who don't relent.
A vast majority of them basking in the strength of their youth, others determined just to put food on the table for others to eat.
People determined to have a brighter future, a wealthier one.
Some build businesses from the scratch, others have to forge a living from petty trade.
Yet, one man calls us "LAZY".
Even in the face of a totally failed system,
odds stacked against them like the proverbial Goliath facing David,
they move about, with enough optimism written over their faces, enough to make you think (s)he just won the lottery.
(S)He just had the doors slammed shut in their face, because they knew no one at the office where they applied for a job.
(S)He treads the dusty earth beneath their feet, envelop in hand, with a face bearing a smile that reflects hope.
Loans hard to come by for new entrepreneurs, economic conditions harsh for the already existing ones.
Let's ask ourselves how many businesses have folded since he became president of the most populous black nation on Earth.
Alas, he brands us "LAZY".
An average of 2million JAMB forms are sold annually, to youths who want to get a tertiary education.
Institutions of higher learning , filled to the brim,
lecture halls regularly filled to capacity, with students having to jostle for halls and seats.
On the bare floor, some sit. Others hang on the windows.
Each with hopes to make his/her family proud.
"The youths are lazy, uneducated and wants everything free", the "King from the North" says. A man whose educational background is questionable (as he can't even provide his WAEC certificate). A man who has been living on the goodwill of the Nigerian system ever since he joined the Army.
He surrounds himself with square pegs in round holes. He has a liar for a Minister of Information. He is fighting a very needless and biased war against corruption. A man bereft of reasoning can only surround himself with similar people!
He is increasingly becoming a thorn in our flesh. The already battered image of Nigerians has taken a major hit by the senile, misguided and recklessly spoken words of our President. He has treated us with disdain at home, and has taken that messed up attitude, arrogantly, to a league of nations. Our already terrible standing globally, has been blown to smithereens by the verbal C4 onslaught of our Commander-in-chief!
Nigerian Youths, it's time to send the man from Daura, packing! Let's show him we aren't lazy!
From @ekjosh, a proud, hardworking and diligent Nigerian who is hurt by the words of folly spewed by his president!
