Hello steemians, today marks the beginning of the most looked out event for student in NIGERIA. It's the beginning of jamb, more than 50,000 student apply for this exam yearly. It quite unfortunate that only a few will be accepted into universities.

If I am to speak in a plain format, the educational system in Nigeria sucks, It limits the life of a person. Let me guide you through what we through. At a young age, you write and exam we call first school leaving certificate (primary 6), if you do not pass that, you are made to repeat the previous class. After that in your high school your made to write another exam called junior school certificate examination That will determine if your fit to move to the next class.

And I must let you know, all of this exam aren't fixed by the school you are in. It is fixed by the government precisely the ministry of education. After two years of writing the junior certificate exam, you made to write another exam that will determine if you will move to the next class, after passing that you will be made to write what we call West Africa Examination Counsel (waec). After writing that exam for about to a whole month or two, You will be made to write yet another exam (JAMB) to determine if your fit to go into a university.

It's something that actually breaks my heart, then the government will tell us that they are here for us. When a student goes through all this drilling and still finds himself left behind.

Dreams of the Nigerian youth are shattered, great men, youth who where meant to be great men become frustrated. I have seen a person write what we call JOINT ADMISSIONS MACTRICULTION BOARD(JAMB) for years...

The educational system in Nigeria sucks, it unfair, irrelevant. After you might have been given admission into a university and spent 4 or 5 years of emotional, psychological suffering, we come out to stay at our homes with no means of survival it sucks.

The other day I came across an educated fellow, driving what we call mini bus. Since we where in a traffic holdup, he told us how he stayed home for about 6 years writing jamb. When he finally got in he stayed for about 5 years, went to youth service and came back..(mind you he came out with a 2:1, which is a good thing). He searched for work in every corner of Nigeria without seeing one, he had no choice but to become a taxi driver.

We have this system in Nigeria we call (who know who), if you don't not have someone in a particular sector there is a very low chance of you working or getting admitted there(yes even in the educational sector).

The government of Nigeria claim to be trying to eradicate corruption, when corruption is the very mechanism that keeps Nigeria at a stand still.

I for one have to become a great man, one way or another. I can't let the future generation pass through what the leaders of today are putting it's youth through.

We are NIGERIANS mother of AFRICA

WE ARE ONE PEOPLE

WE SHOULD NOT LET RACE, LANGUAGE DIVIDE US, WE SHOULD NOT BE FIGHTING OVER WHICH GOD IS SUPREME. WE SHOULD BE FIGHTING AGAINST CORRUPTION.

Very sad, I have seen someone who wrote jamb for 6 years

They government officials will in turn send their kids abroad....

This is awesome.. And i hope you have your voters card, if you don't, do the needful..

I am ready, but the question goes (WHO IS THE RIGHT LEADER COME 2019)?

I have always maintained that JAMB has outlived his usefulness. Every University should be allowed to determine who they admit into their system. Stop JAMB and empower the university system.

It has, student have gone through enough drilling as it is.... When it comes to education the UNITED STATES is leading but their youth don't go such drilling...why is it that when a Nigerian gets into a university there, the lead... But over here its a problem?

Hmm.. It's really sad man!!
