National flower of Sri Lanka Blue Lotus

The Blue Lotus (Nymphaea stellata) was selected as the national flower of Sri Lanka due to its cultural and historical significance in the country. It is considered a sacred flower in Buddhis. It has been depicted in many ancient paintings and sculptures. Additionally, the Blue Lotus is also known for its beauty and fragrance, making it an appropriate symbol for the country.
