People have legitimate gripes with the cost of rent going up disproportionately to income.

Well, guess what, leftist policies are bound to make it worse.

Now, there is a history of squatters' rights in this country. The basis is mostly built around people traveling West in the 19th century, when it was pretty common for people to abandon their property and move on.

Heck, depending on the state, The Simpsons placing an "abandoned" sign on their house before moving in the You Only Move Twice episode could create some legal issues when they came back and found Otto squatting.

What's happening in several blue states nowadays isn't what was intended.

These policies in New York and Washington in particular aren't just pro-criminal, they're pro-leech.

Now Jessica Burbank of The Hill, who is the only person on the planet who makes Cenk Uygur look mildly intelligent by comparison, cocked up some bullshit, socialist justifications for these people. After all, they're just stealing from corporations and rich people, right?

No, they're stealing from individuals. They're also hurting legitimate tenants.

You know why housing is so expensive? It's because the demand is higher than the supply. One deadbeat, freeloader inhabiting space is space taken from a legitimate renter. What incentive does anyone have to build more housing when these dumb laws are in place, that allow squatters to extort owners while damaging the property?
