The Alps are a mountain range across France, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Austria and Slovenia... What's so unique about the Swiss Alps? ...there is an enormous diversity of landscapes and nature in a relatively small area.

Thanks sounds awesome @traciyork And it is the Swiss Alps and although I do like your reasoning it isn't why I chose them... @davedickeyyall has come the closest to the answer. There are a couple of words in the post (including title that hint at why the swiss alps).
