Wow!. There is no doubt that i enjoyed today's matches. Wow. What a day.

The day started with the match between Sweden and South Korea. I particularly found South Korea's goal keeper impressive. The guy had a lot of saves to nullify Sweden's threat and Son was also particularly impressive too, taking defenders on and cutting from the side. South Korea put up the fight, but it was not enough to earn them a draw. Sweden nicked it from the penalty spot through their captain; Granqvist in the 70th minute. It wasn't initially given until the referee decided through VAR. It was really entertaining and Sweden edged it like i expected them to.

The second match of the day was between Belgium and Panama. I expected this match to go Belgium's way and they finally cracked open the defense of Panama. Panama were rock solid. This is actually their first World Cup and the lack of experience actually cost them. they couldn't hold om for too long and maybe the 5 yellow cards they got calmed them down and they relaxed a little, but there is no denying the fact that experience played a huge part in this.

Belgium took the lead from a sensational volley from Mertens in the 47th minute. He struck it to perfection and there was absolutely nothing the keeper could have done about it.

The second goal of the day came from an excellent run and footwork from Hazard to De Bruyne, who gave an excellent outside foot half volley assist to Lukaku in the 69th minute and he gave a wonderful header to extend their lead.

Lukaku wasn't done. He was sent clear by Eden Hazard and he gave a neat finish in the 75th minute. Two goals for him, and three for Belgium. There is no denying the fact that they duly deserved this. They bombarded Panama and they eventually cracked.

The last match of the day was between England and Tunisia. England bombarded Tunisia early on and they should have gone too far away from sight, with their goal margin but they were wasteful and not connecting in the box.

Lingard and Sterling had lot of chances but they just couldn't bury them, and it almost cost them.

Kane opened the scoring in the 11th minute, when Ashley Young whooped a corner in, which the header was first saved by the goal keeper, but Kane was able to pounce on it and tap in from inside the box. 1-0.

Tunisia lost their keeper to a shoulder injury and the second keeper that came in was equal to the task.

Kyle Walker gave away a penalty in the box with his flailing hand, when he hit Tunisian player right across the face and the referee pointed to the spot. There was no question about that, and Sassi converted from the spot in the 35th minute, to draw level, and that was the first goal scored in 2018 World Cup by an African team.

Tunisia tried to grab another and Lingard was a constant threat too for England but it just wouldn't happen. No one could get the needed goal until the 90+1 minute, when Harry Kane came up with the goods. He headed home from a close range at the edge of the goal post and the jubilation was so hard to contain. Nothing beats scoring right at the end of a match after waiting all 90 minute for it. Tunisia would feel aggrieved, with the efforts they put in but football is a result business, and England came up with it.
