SCALONI BECOMES ARGENTINA INTERIM COACH

In a brief statement released on Thursday 1st by the Argentinian Football Association (AFA), it was confirmed that the nation's national team have assigned Lionel Scaloni as their caretaker coach.

The 40 year old Scaloni, who was a member of the backroom staff during Jorge Sampaoli's tenure, will be in charge of the national team for the September friendly matches that will be played against Guatemala and Colombia.

The friendlies will be Argentina's first fixtures since their last narrow lost to the Les Bleus of France in the round of 16 of a disappointing world cup campaign in Russia under Sampaoli.

The president of the Federation Claudio Tapia in his words to Ole, said he expects the temporal manager to be in charge of the team throughout the year 2018.
