Quarter final stats... Sweden vs England

The teams to end up in the final of the Fifa 2018 World Cup still remains unpredicted as the quarter final is yet to kicks off. The World cup actions resumes tomorrow, yesterday we had a review on the teams playing against each other. We saw the stats of teams playing in the quarter final, Uruguay vs. France, Brazil vs. Belgium and the other matches stats will be dropped today

Sweden vs. England

Sweden is an unexpected side that was doubted before the commencement of the World Cup but the have fought their way through to the Quarter finals. Who knows if they are still going to make progress into the next round of the tournament?

Sweden has proved to the world that big names don’t mean football. I am one of those that are following up with the Swedish style of play. The Swedish team has been defense minded so far at the World Cup. They have been able to form a defense line that is hard to break by teams.

Despite their focus on the defense line, Sweden has successfully scored six goal and conceded two in four matches which means they make use of their chances whenever it comes. Sweden topped the group where the likes of Korea, Mexico and Germany are, that shows they can’t be sidelined.

They have chances against England if they can maintain their defensive play.

Whenever I am giving the stats on England, many thinks am sentimental but the answer is no. the English team are winning but haven’t play up to expectation. Who care about playing up to expectation? Winning is all every fans need.

Looking at England team, they have been fantastic in the tournament and many as tip them to winning the trophy but that can possibly happen if they get through Sweden first and that might be a bit difficult for England. I know you are already wondering how?.

Defensively England hasn’t been at their best at the tournament. They have conceded in all their 2018 World Cup matches, they failed to keep the likes of Panama. The team has a good attacking force but can they take down the Swedish defense?

England narrowly escaped losing out in the round of 16 against Columbia that ended in a penalty shootout.

My usual saying, Let hope the best side emerges as the winner.
Both teams have played 13 times against each other since 1990 with Sweden having most victories in the encounters.
