We got Rain!
Finally!
It's been so very dry this spring, crispy even. It's not unusual at all for this area and this time of year, it still totally sucks for the gardens though. It also causes many forest fires and one is already totally out of control up north, threatening a town.
We're in the city so we don't have much of a threat of fire, but when we don't get rain, we pay for the water for the gardens out of our own pockets. Can't save it in a rain barrel if it never comes! lol
It's funny, most people think they will save money by growing their own food. I'm sure that can be true for some, for us though, it consistently costs us way more than we save! 😆
That's ok however, it's our favourite (only?) hobby these days, so I guess as long as we're happy doing it and not going broke, it's all good!
Anyway, we finally got a good dose of rain, might even get more today with some thunder and lightning to back it up, that's my favourite! 🤞🏻

so nice! Here in Spain It's a rainy spring, thats good for the plants, and you're true... plant your own fruits and vegetables can be expensive and you have to spend your time to care them...
Glad you're getting the rain you need! It's gloomy looking and quite wet here today too, but i'm so much more appreciative of it since the drought! LoL
Beautiful garden! My father-in-law has barrels set out to take advantage of the rain but I'd like to come up with a better way to actually retrieve the water since letting it trickle out of a little hose isn't all that useful.
We've been having thunderstorms out this way quite a bit over the past few weeks and everything has really taken advantage of it. Can't beat that lightening for getting the nitrogen going!

Yes I'd rather have a pump as well, our old barrels could use a serious upgrade 😆
The worst thing about lightning here is we often get dry lightning, just ends up starting fires instead of boosting nitrogen! LoL
