I am happy to be a student of this mini-school. I am so glad to have such teachers like you and I'm sure my ride with you would be lovely. I never knew the benefits of spreadsheets untill now.

It is with joy that I present my homework below.

Explain your understanding of the Spreadsheet, listing its features, its purposes, and an example image that follows your explanation


A spreadsheet is a simple software application that helps in creating, analysing and organizing data in rows and in columns. In a spreadsheet is what we call a "cell" Which is simply the union of rows and columns.

Purpose of a spreadsheet

Although the primary purpose of a spreadsheet is to organize, create and analyze data into logical format, there are still other purposes;

• Calculation and Accounting purposes: Spreadsheet are used across the globe by business men to keep record of their business accounts, that way, calculation is made easy.

• It can be used to clean up unwanted data.

• For keeping tracks of expenses and budgets: It is good to keep tracks of your business record on a spreadsheet. You get to manage your income and watch your expenses so you don't end up a surprise.

• Used to achieve all educational purposes.

Based on the basic Formulas given in this lecture, use the data below to calculate the SUM Function and the AVERAGE Function of the class. Show clear working as to how you arrive at your answer

First, I inserted my function which is "SUM," then I had to start typing in the value 2, value 3, value 4 and value 5 after that, I clicked enter and the total appeared.

Average function

My function here is no longer sum but "Average," I inserted it and added my value 2, value 3, value 4 and value 5, then I clicked enter and I have my result.

Take a screenshot of your worksheet and identify the cell Addresses of the following; N16 with a fill color of black, J8 with a fill color of yellow B5 with a fill color of Green G12 with a fill color of purple and D1 with a fill color of orange. Write your username on these cells using a visible font

Prepare a score for 15 students where the cell A1 label will be Name, cell B1 label will be Maths Score, cell C1 label will be English Score, cell D1 label will be Physics Score, cell E1 label will be Chemistry Score and cell F1 will be labeled Total. Add all necessary information and calculate the total for each student. Show clear working
