Spotlight Art Contest #1: Surrendering to Shadow

Many times in life we surrender to the shadow and start living in someone's shadow. Instead of living what our heart, mind and body tell us, we listen to someone else and subdue ourselves to someone else’s goals, wishes, and often even detrimental ideas and demands. We became less and less until we forget our truth our true self until we get totally transformed into the idea of someone else. The process goes on and on until we become our own shadow that not even remotely resembles the very lively being we were when we were born, and quite often we get deadly sick because of it. Many times we are taught to only subdue and surrender instead of to cooperate and give initiative. We became overshadowed by someone else’s idea and behave like we are an extension of that idea as though we don’t have a heart and mind of our own. We are taught to belong, and it extends to the point that we behave like property of someone else. But no one is a property of anyone else.
