Former Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin was forced to postpone his move from Juventus to Benfica, this was because the Juventus second goalkeeper failed when he did a medical at Benfica on Thursday (18/7) local time.

Perin also seemed confident to start his new career with the Portuguese giant. Because throughout the 2018-2019 season, he spent more time as a warm-up bench for losing competitiveness with Wojciech Szczesny.

"I want to thank Juventus for giving the opportunity to grow rapidly last season. Now I want to apply what has been learned," Perin said before leaving for Portugal.

He arrived in Portugal and immediately took a medical at the Benfica headquarters the next day. Unfortunately, the results of medical tests show that the condition of the 26-year-old player has not made it possible to work with Benfica.

One of the reasons for the failure of the medical test was Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in both legs in April 2016 and January 2017. As is known, this type of injury is a scourge for a footballer.

The situation was further aggravated by the condition of his shoulder which had also experienced severe problems. It was reported that Perin had undergone surgery to heal his shoulder in June 2015 and April 2019.

According to the news, the two clubs have reached an agreement at the figure of 15 million euros as the dowry of Perin's move.
